
FLORENCE, S.C. – The 36th Annual Pepsi Carolina Classic presented by South Carolina Federal Credit Union did not disappoint, with fast-paced action Dec. 27-29, at Wilson High School, 1411 E. Old Marion Highway, Florence, to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of the Pee Dee.
Quality Education Academy from Winston-Salem, N.C., took top honors for the Boys Division in a close victory over the Wilson Tigers. Quality’s Bobby Cannon won the Frank Avent MVP Award.
Locals, Trinity Collegiate School of Darlington took top honors for the Girls Division against returning champions Lake View. Trinity’s Azaria Knox won the SC Federal Credit Union MVP Award. This is the second year the tournament has featured a girls’ division.
Carmel Christian of Charlotte, N.C., won the Tom Davidson Sportsmanship Award (Girls or Boys Team).
