This workshop, led by the South Carolina Commission for Community Advancement & Engagement, will provide an overview of the Small & Minority Business Contracting Certification (SMBCC) program. Attendees will learn about eligibility requirements, the application process, and how certification can help position their business for state contracting and procurement opportunities. FREE.

About the Speaker – Ashton Williams
Ashton Williams serves as the Outreach Coordinator for the Small & Minority Business Division at the South Carolina Commission for Community Advancement and Engagement. In this role, he works directly with small and minority-owned businesses across the state to provide education, technical assistance, and access to resources that help them grow and compete in the marketplace.With a background in economic development and certification support, Ashton has a strong track record of connecting business owners with opportunities in state procurement, funding, and strategic partnerships. Prior to joining the Commission, he worked with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, supporting Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) through certification and capacity-building initiatives. Ashton is passionate about economic empowerment and committed to helping entrepreneurs navigate state systems and unlock their full potential. His practical, hands-on approach makes him a trusted resource for businesses looking to take the next step in their journey.
