About: ArtFields is hosting First Peoples of the Southeast, highlighting the rich artistic and cultural traditions of Native Americans in the Southeast, acknowledging the earliest culture of makers to inhabit the land of the Pee Dee region.
The event will run from September 9th - January 30th and will feature 9|9: Art of the Native South in Jones-Carter Gallery and Bounded Space: Belonging to the Native South in TRAX Visual Art Center. Join ArtFields for a dual gallery opening to celebrate these exhibitions on September 11th 6-8pm.
Visitors are also invited to join ArtFields on October 3rd for a culture celebration featuring dance, music, storytelling, and an Indian market, as the project provides a platform for understanding and engaging with Native American art, culture and living traditions of indigenous federal and state recognized tribes in the Southeast.
