NASCAR Foundation gives back to Boys & Girls Clubs

DARLINGTON – The NASCAR Foundation presented a $15,000 gift to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Pee Dee Area during the Speediatrics Fun Day Festival Friday, May 10. One hundred Boys & Girls Club members from Florence and Timmonsville got to meet young drivers, enjoy the fun, and sign the Kaulig Racing racecar hood that will be displayed at the Florence Club.

The event culminated a week of racing-themed lifestyle programing provided by The NASCAR Foundation. You can download similar activity sheets here: https://www.nascarfoundation.org/programs/activity-sheets.

The Speediatrics Fun Day Festival included a series of NASCAR-related active games inside the NASCAR Experience at Darlington Raceway: the Goodyear Tire Race, Looking for Lug Nuts, Gas Can Relay, Pit Stop Challenge, Stock Car Toss, and the Art of Racing.

As part of this year’s program, each child received a pedometer to track their steps. Top steppers, E’Mani and Angel, together walked nearly 100,000 steps in a week. Each received a gift card for new shoes, which they might need after all those steps!
